SET’s activities

How was the company Sport Extra Time (SET) created?

The founders of SET came from various backgrounds and educations (see The Team). This diversity was the cornerstone of Sport Extra Time, a human adventure built on experience, excellence and a passion for sports and television. The founders surrounded themselves by talented individuals who shared these values, creating a team determined to see the company make its mark in this era of image and global broadcasting.

SET’s activities: to serve sport and its distribution...

SET’s activities bring together many aspects of the sport-related audiovisual sector. The company provides management and coordination of the entire spectrum of television operations (host broadcaster) for sporting events of all sizes.

Eg: SET was chosen as Host Broadcaster for the 5th CISM World Games in Rio de Janeiro in July 2011. As TV rights holder, it undertook all production and distribution responsibilities for the event that welcomed around 7,000 athletes from 110 countries. SET managed the entire broadcast operation for this international sporting event, and the figures speak for themselves: live images from 20 stadiums throughout Rio, management of the International Broadcast Centre, distribution of images to over 130 countries with 12 hours of content produced daily over 9 days.

SET offers advice on the organisation of international events, live timing and results data processing, Games Management System (GMS) including accreditation management applications, sports marketing and the acquisition and sale of TV rights.

SET is the rights holder for many televised sporting events including the IAAF World Championships Athletics (Africa region), African Championships in Athletics (global) and various boxing and football championships.

... Worldwide

SET operates all throughout the world in collaboration with national and international federations, organising committees, authorities and other television partners.

Based in Geneva and with offices in Paris and Rio de Janeiro (see BC Services in Brazil), SET is a truly international company. With its headquarters in Switzerland, SET is strategically close to international sporting institutions such as FIFA, the International Olympic Committee, UEFA, and continental football confederations. SET’s Paris and Rio offices also give the company a strong presence right at the centre of the world’s biggest sporting events.
